Types of Fillers
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers are a popular category of softer fillers and include brands such as Belotero, Restylane, Lyft and Voluma. These softer fillers can be used around the eyes, cheeks and mouth. They really show their strength by filling in areas of the face that start to develop deep shadows or hollows. They can be used around the eyes to alleviate dark circles or a tired look. HA fillers are also useful in plumping the lips for a natural and balanced look. They typically last 6-18 months.
Bioactive Fillers
Bioactive fillers, such as Radiesse, stimulate the skin to produce collagen. Radiesse has a thicker consistency and is made of natural calcium. Bioactive fillers (Radiesse) are injected deeper into the skin to recontour the cheeks and jowls by pushing them up. These fillers are more durable, lasting 12-18 months.
Fat Transfer Injectable Fillers
For a longer-lasting filler, your own fat is the most durable and there is no chance of an allergic reaction. Lumen Fill is a specialized technique using gentle liposuction to extract fat from a donor area. The fat is then distilled to its purest form. The fat can be injected into multiple areas of the face to restore lost volume in cheeks, push up jowls, plump up lips and lift the eyebrows.
Ultimate Comfort and Care
We want you to feel comfortable and have the best experience possible. It’s why we take the time to educate you about what to expect before and after your procedure. Lumen Center patients are carefully monitored post-procedure and at regular checkpoints for up to a year.
How Do BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin & Jeuveau Work?
BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin & Jeuveau are muscle-relaxing agents. They block the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions and weaken the muscles in treated areas. As a result, this wards off deep wrinkles and the skin retains a smooth, softened appearance.
When choosing between BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin & Jeuveau, we consider your individual goals and history to determine the best treatment for you. Jeuveau (the “new Botox”) is the newest injectable treatment specially formulated to treat moderate to severe glabellar lines, and it’s an effective solution for reducing frown lines.
What Areas Can Be Treated with BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin & Jeuveau?
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines “11” lines between the eyes
- Under eye wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Neck cords
- Chin puckering
What Can I Expect at the BOTOX Treatment Session?
BOTOX and BOTOX-like treatments safe, effective and minimally-invasive. Once we determine the optimal product for you, it is strategically injected into the identified area using a very fine needle. A treatment session typically lasts no more than 15 minutes, so they can be performed during your lunch hour or easily worked into a busy schedule. Discomfort is minimal, but topical anesthetics can be used to make our patients feel comfortable.
How Long Do Results Last After BOTOX?
The softer, more youthful look usually lasts for 3-4 months.
How Long Is the Recovery after BOTOX?
After the procedure, there is little to no downtime. Most people can return to normal activities immediately.
How Do Fillers Work and What Are They Made With?
As we age, there is a gradual loss of volume in the face, typically around the cheeks, lips, temples, eyes and mouth. Fillers restore lost volume and can allow specific areas of the face to be contoured. Fillers also help smooth out wrinkles, age lines and face folds.
Some fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in your body. Some bioactive fillers are made with natural calcium. We can even use fat from another area of your body as filler, which has some amazing benefits – and you can’t get more natural than your own fat!
How Long Do Fillers Last?
Fillers typically last 6-18 months, depending on the product and area of treatment. In general, the denser the product and the deeper it is injected, the longer it will last. Fat transfer injectable fillers last 5-7 years. To maintain your results, repeat injections are performed.

What Can I Expect at the BOTOX Treatment Session?
Fillers are a safe, effective and minimally-invasive treatment. During the complimentary consultation, we’ll take your medical history and ask you a series of questions to determine the optimal treatment plan for you.

Blunt cannulas are new dull tipped needles that allow fillers to be placed with much less bruising and pain than conventional needles. They have made filler treatments much more comfortable than in the past. Patients are also given a local anesthetic for comfort during the procedure.
